Our Presenters:

Daisy Morin, Workforce Engagement Director, WorkFour

Daisy is a Senior Advisor and Founding Member of WorkFour, the National Campaign for the Four Day Work Week. Their vision is a world where we all have the time and freedom to balance work with what matters most: families and friends, neighbors and communities, play and rest. Their mission is to make the 4-day, 32-hour workweek the standard for all in the US, with full pay and benefits.

AsaleSol Young, Executive Director, Housing in Action
As executive director of Housing in Action, a community development-focused nonprofit in Minneapolis, AsaleSol Young has become a powerful voice in the pursuit of housing justice. Their advocacy during the spring legislative session shaped crucial housing bills; as a result, Housing in Action secured a $5 million direct appropriation dedicated to building affordable homeownership options in the coming years. In 2022, Young initiated the Southside Peacekeeping Coalition to address safety concerns in the Phillips neighborhood, a model that could be repeated in other neighborhoods. Laser-focused on building equitable ownership opportunities for BIPOC families in the Twin Cities, Young led Housing in Action in developing a cooperative homeownership model to provide $20,000 down payment support to Black and Indigenous first-time buyers.

Georgette Christensen, Director of Programs, Merrick Community Services
As a passionate, culture-centric community director, I have over 25 years’ of cumulative managerial experience in public administration, wellness, and social services. Employing a unique method of leadership skills, strategic, and analytical thinking, I have launched several programs with an emphasis on improving the living conditions for Native American families. Long ago, I learned that it takes a team to facilitate change which begins with fostering positive relationships and collaborating with elected officials, organizational leaders, community members, state, local, and tribal government entities. My record of directing agency work teams to integrate, implement, and execute special initiatives and projects were designed to enhance the services of a community. Unfortunate at times, I dealt with socio-economical disparities and its impact on the overall wellness within a population. However, I am driven to continue implementing diversity and racial equity among a community.
