Why MACC
When you join our network of 60+ human services nonprofits, you get a shared administrative staff who become part of your team, a learning community that connects you with experts and peers, and the power of our collective voice fighting to change the conditions limiting our sector’s impact. Together, we co-create the expertise, infrastructure, and collective power none of us could build alone. Running a nonprofit is hard. The administrative complexity, the funding pressures, the workforce challenges, the isolation of leadership — none of it goes away on its own. MACC exists to make this work easier and to make you stronger.
How Membership Works
Joining MACC starts with a conversation — not an application. We want to get to know your organization, understand your needs, and make sure MACC is the right fit for where you are and where you’re going. If it feels like a match, we’ll work with you to get started.

Our members are the heart of everything we do.
Meet the 60+ human services nonprofits across our network who are connecting our neighbors to the resources, structures, and support they need to build the healthy, vibrant, equitable communities they envision – from food access and housing to mental health, workforce development, and beyond.
Who we are
The Metropolitan Alliance of Connected Communities is a collaborative network of more than 60 human service nonprofit organizations. We use our collective scale, resources, and creativity to tackle challenges and explore opportunities in a way that no single organization could do alone.
We do three things in collaboration with our members:
We are your shared staff.
We provide the core business expertise any organization needs to run well. Our services were created by and are still owned and shaped by our network of nonprofits. We are your shared staff who become part of your team building the deep relationships that make shared services work.
We are your learning community.
We bring our network together to connect with experts, thought leaders, and each other giving you the knowledge, perspective, and peer support you need on the topics that matter most to your work and your leadership.
We are your collective voice.
We work together to change the conditions limiting our sector’s impact — advocating for funding that works, data practices that center community, and a public narrative that reflects the true value of human services work.
Who We Serve
MACC members are human services nonprofits working in partnership with their communities to build strong, healthy, vibrant, and equitable places where everyone can thrive. Our members deliver community-centered programs for individuals, children, and families, working with their communities to build solutions, shine a light on unjust systems, and provide critical resources to communities that have been intentionally underinvested in. MACC members are doing extraordinary, mission-driven work with the power to create transformational impact in their communities, and they deserve a network that helps them reach it.
A typical MACC member is a mid-sized 501(c)3 human services organization located in the Twin Cities or 7-county metro area with a budget between $500K and $12 million.
